Repousse Silver Earring

The word, “repoussé”, is from the French, meaning roughly “pushed up from behind”. The technique involves pushing a silver surface outward from behind to create a three dimensional effect on the surface of the sterling. Then, a technique called “chasing” is used to work the details of the design on the front or outside of the piece to create the final pattern.
